So… GERMANY LEGALISED ADULT-USE CANNABIS LAST FRIDAY (in case you hadn’t heard)!
Not gonna bore you with ‘what that means’, because it means a lot of things. But one thing we will say, dear thermidorks< is that this sets a precedent for, not only the EU, but the rest of the world. Time will indeed tell what the medical, legal, financial, cultural, and socio-economic impact will be, but right now all we have is rife speculation, so sit tight.
And what of the rest of Europe? What about the UK? The biggest hurdle here in Britain is that no one knows medical cannabis is legal. That needs to change. Check out Dave’s recent musings on the topic (overview below).
It’s been a long time coming, but Germany has officially said that cannabis will be legal from 1st April this year. While it won’t be the free-for-all that many had hoped for, and given there are many opponents, it’s a significant development for the global cannabis industry… but make your own judgements.
Alas, not the pugilistic billing that you never knew you wanted to see (!). Rather, the retired boxer-turned cannabis entrepreneur is urging the US President to grant clemency to nonviolent cannabis offenders still in jail. Maybe Biden will listen… if Tyson doesn’t bite his ear off.
The Spanish government has finally kickstarted a public consultation on legalising medical cannabis. And while the ‘Royal Decree’ is inviting feedback, one major omission from the current draft is all about formulas and extracts, there’s no mention of good old fashioned flower.
In a recent interview with Pod Save America, former Obama staffer, Democrat Elizabeth Warren, said that none other than pro wrestler-turned-actor Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson would top her celebrity blunt sharing list. Smells good to us.
ICYMI last week on LinkedIn, here’s our very own Dave Barton’s personal tale of being a medical cannabis ‘patient’. He hopes that more people will feel empowered to share their own stories, and continue to let the rest of Britain know that they too could benefit from medical cannabis.
Whatever line of work you’re in, finding that elusive flow state is critical to persistence and productivity. Perhaps cannabis could help? Check out this excellent article from the lovely folks at leafie.
