We hope you’re excited about this lovely Monday, the 6th of March. We are. Not just because it’s a new week, but because it’s a new week that happens to contain one of the cannabis calendar events of the year.
That’s right – Spannabis!!
We haven’t even started packing, but we’re focused on finalising some exciting plans. We’ve got a lot of filming prepped and even a cheeky sesh in the diary with some cool people from across the industry.
Right, let’s kick this week off with some ridiculous news from the last. Weed is in a weird place in the UK. We talk about it all the time, but this really does have to take the biscuit. Criticism is being levelled at companies seemingly trying to make CBD harder to buy. Get. A. Grip.
If your mother can be convinced by the virtues of cannabis, well, the world’s your lobster! And, as this piece from Fresh Toast points out, ‘cannamoms’ are a critical demographic when it comes to making widespread cannabis legalisation a thing. We’re certainly here for it(!).
Love it, love it, love it. Over 7500 people in Missouri have had previous cannabis convictions expunged as a result of the state’s shift to legal bud. This is excellent. More of this everywhere, please. Pretty please.
It is news, but when you’ve been able to buy weed in the Netherlands for so long, to the point it’s become a tourist attraction, it feels odd to say that the pilot program to trial legal cannabis sales has just started. Not knocking it though(!).
Just a string of successes this week, even if this one has taken a while. California’s program to help cities to improve social equity in cannabis has just handed San Diego $880,000 to do exactly that. It took a bit too long, but very much better late than never.
Western Massachusetts may well see a local business drop a slight rebrand, turning a strip club into a topless dispensary. Didn’t think we’d start the week writing that sentence.
